Virginia Noble

 

A native of Kinston, North Carolina, Ginny received a B. A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Moving just a few miles away for law school, she graduated from Duke University School of Law in 1988. Ginny then worked as an attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C., but returned to Durham in 1991 to start the law firm of McGill & Noble with law school classmate Christa McGill.

Ginny practices in the areas of social security and veterans disability law. The North Carolina State Bar has certified her as a specialist in social security disability law. Ginny is accredited to practice before the Department of Veterans Affairs and is admitted to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. She is also admitted to the U.S. Federal District Courts in all three North Carolina districts.

Ginny stays involved with professional organizations in her areas of practice both locally and nationally. She is currently on the social security disability specialization committee of the North Carolina State Bar. Ginny is also a member of the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives, the National Organization for Veterans Advocates, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims Bar Association.

Ginny also earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on the welfare state.
